Macorva provides flexible communication settings that let administrators customize the messages employees and managers receive during performance management cycles. These settings allow you to override the system's default messages to better reflect your company culture, branding, and specific instructions for each cycle.
Important: These optional overrides apply to the entire institution if enabled. If you customize any messages here, they will apply to all performance review cycles conducted across the entire institution, ensuring consistent communication every time a new cycle is launched. If left unchanged, the default messages will be used.
Access the Communication Settings
- Log into your Macorva Admin account and go to Configure > Performance.
- Click on Communication.

How to Customize Notifications
The process for editing any notification is the same. Follow these steps to apply your custom messaging:
- Find the notification you wish to change by clicking on the dropdown arrow.
- Identify the field you want to edit: Email Subject, Email Text, or SMS Text.
- Click into the corresponding text box to edit the message. You can either modify the default text or replace it entirely.
- Repeat these steps for any other notifications you wish to customize.

Note: There are currently placeholders in each field. These are special tags that automatically insert specific information into each message, personalizing the communication.

{FIRST_NAME}: This will be replaced with the recipient's first name. -
{URL}: This will be replaced with a direct link for the user to sign into the Macorva platform and complete the required action.
Types of Notifications
Below is a description of each notifications purpose and its default message content.
Evaluation Notifications
These notifications are sent at the beginning of a cycle's evaluation period to inform employees that they can now begin their evaluations.
- Evaluation Open: This message is sent at the beginning of a cycle's evaluation period to inform employees that they can now begin their evaluations.
- Evaluation Reminder: This message is sent as a reminder to employees who have not yet completed their evaluations within the current cycle.

Review Notifications
These notifications are sent when the cycle progresses to the manager review stage.
- Review Open: This message informs managers that their team members' evaluations are ready for them to review.
- Review Reminder: This message is sent to remind managers to complete their performance reviews for their team.

Legal Notifications
These notifications are for administrators or HR personnel responsible for legal or compliance audits of the reviews generated in a cycle.
- Legal Risk Open: This message is sent when performance audits are ready for review and approval.
- Legal Risk Reminder: This is a reminder to complete the legal audit and approval process for the cycle's reviews.

Public Notifications
This notification (labeled as Public Announcement) is sent to all employees once the performance review cycle is complete and final reviews are published and available for viewing.

Save your Changes
After making your desired changes to any of the communication templates, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button to apply your new settings to all future performance review cycles.

Note: Please note that these messages can only be triggered if a date is set for one or more of each stage. Please contact your CSM to set dates for each stage of the performance review cycle.
